The most beautiful Koi in Europe will be shown at this fair and will return home with different prizes . Koi Competition with international Jury

This fair takes place in Kapermolenpark Hasselt ( Work in the park ! See Contact ) where the most beautiful Koi are shown and go home with different prices, even Koi that cannot be seen anywhere else, except on this show ! The winners are determined by an international jury , after an assessment of their beauty in all aspects such as skin quality, physique and color patterns .

The Belgian Koi Show has also been known for years for the extremely high quality of the exhibited Koi. The most beautiful examples of Belgium, the Netherlands and France can be seen at the show.

In addition to the competitive element, the Koi show is also about bringing together the Kooi enthusiast and hobbyists of all kinds of allooi. It is a place to meet each other in common interests, and a place to gain a lot of knowledge and information about the pond and garden events. This is due to the presence of exhibitors who bring a lot of knowledge, expertise and material, ready to release to the general public, ranging from filter material, test kits, Koi food, etc. Bring the possibility to buy bonsai, plants and art for the garden, and everything is available to create a perfectly rotating pond, which also looks very beautiful too!

Not to mention that this whole event takes place in an Asian atmosphere, due to the fact that the show is located near the Japanese Garden of Hasselt, and this is the largest Japanese Garden in all of Europe.

We hope to see you at the next Belgian Koi Show, on June 22 and 23 2019. See you then!

To Japanese Garden

I have been visiting the Belgian Koishow (s) every year since 1998 and I must say, especially in the last ten years there has been a significant increase in the quality of the fish in the competition. The range of sales stands is also very varied. In short, the Belgium Koi Society Koi Show is more than worth a visit!

Toën Feyen (Nl)ZNA Certified Judge

Top show, pleasant atmosphere with top competition kois !!! A must for every koi enthusiast in Belgium!

Chris van Cleemput (B)Visitor

A nice experience to help with the construction and also the show itself, where you get to know a whole lot of new and fun people with whom you can share your koi and pond experiences. Since you have never learned about koi! You will also see beautiful fish swimming in the barrels that are certainly worth a closer look! Certainly the fish that you would otherwise hardly see or not see are definitely worth it! I am also happy to help with this show!

Jurgen Briers (B)Volunteer and Visitor

I’ve been the first time at Belgian Koi Show about 3 years ago.
I knew that koi hobby was popular in the middle of Europe but I didn’t know how to expect, in particular from a little country like Belgium.
When I arrived to Hasselt and I saw the location, my expression has been like…WOW! The green park and the japanese garden in the vicinity are a perfect context for a koi show, and also the stands and vats arrangment are really well located. The level of koi for the contest is the highest that I’ve seen in Europe and as well the organization of the event. Good food, drink and friendship make the rest.
If I have to decide one koi show to visit in Europe, I have no doubts…BELGIAN KOI SHOW!

Donation to the Japanese garden & Presence of Ying Ying

In Japan something happens that is only possible in Japan … a fish – yes, a fish !! – is sold at an auction for an astronomical amount.

What do you think of then? 5000 euros? Or maybe 50,000 euros? That is already a lot. Let’s go crazy, maybe 500,000 euros ! That is already closer .. just add another million .. Yes, for a fish! A Koi, that is, beautiful, unique, fish that can be found in (almost) all colors of the rainbow. Because this fish … that is a champion! And this champion has the ability to produce many champions.

The buyer of this fish? A Taiwanese trader, known in the Koi world, named: Ying Ying.
